"Roger Maxwell is totally and permanently disabled."
- Roger's employer one year after his stroke.

Just six months after his wedding, in his 40’s, patent attorney [for detailed information about Roger's patent background in his own words, click here] Roger Maxwell had a devastating stroke. After his health insurance ran out, he was left with severely compromised vision, speech, balance, was unable to swallow, and had no chance of walking without a cane. He was told he could do nothing but cross his fingers. He and his wife Kathy refused to accept this "life sentence" and – relying heavily on the very latest developments described in pending patent applications –Roger researched and devised a program for himself that brought him to full recovery from all his remaining infirmities. Today he is an avid marathon runner, a full-time patent attorney, co-author of Taking Charge of Your Stroke Recovery: A Personal Recovery Workbook (www.takingchargebooks.com), and the nutritional columnist for the National Stroke Association’s StrokeSmart magazine. He is also the inventor on two pending U.S. Patents for subject matter to improve people’s well-being.

Roger says that despite the many challenges we all face (with 46 million of us having no health insurance and millions more having health policies limiting how much can be spent on stroke recovery), we CAN enhance the factors and forces that help us overcome life’s challenges.
